LOMA, the world’s largest international research and education association for the life insurance and financial services industry, has an opening for an experienced writer. This role has a solid career path with defined opportunities for growth within 12 – 24 months.

EXAMINATIONS WRITER

Candidates must have solid financial knowledge and experience in finance, investments, and/or retirement planning

• Work as part of a process-oriented development team, creating study aids, examinations, and assessments for LOMA’s education courses

• Collaborate with other internal writers and online developers, as well as subject-experts and consultants to determine that exam questions are of high quality and accurately represent industry-related situations and scenarios

• Analyze proctored examinations to verify the quality of exam question development
• Edit course manuscripts and exam items developed by other team members

Candidates for the Examinations Writer position must have

• Outstanding writing skills and analytical ability

• A four-year college degree or higher; preference may given to qualified candidates who majored in Finance, Insurance, Accounting, Economics, or other Business disciplines

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all professional levels

• Knowledge of proofreading techniques and textual editing

• Strong time-management and organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities

• Preference may also be given to the following

  • Minimum of 3 years of industry experience in life insurance and/or retirement

  • Completion of courses in LOMA’s professional designation programs

  • Experience in test development, educational measurement, and/or psychometric analysis
