LIMRA’s Custom Research team is looking for a Research Associate. based in our Windsor, CT office.   The Research Associate collect, analyzes, reports, interprets, and communicates data collected for custom and consortia research projects.  Performs some project management functions in support of overall unit performance. 

Essential Functions:

Collect, analyzes and interprets data.

  • Receives, processes, and codes data gathered through internal processes or through external vendors.
  • Checks and verifies data received.
  • Manipulates, compiles, and analyzes data using SAS or other analysis software.
  • Insures accuracy and reasonableness of data.

Creates or modifies data analysis programs for use in analyzing data.
 

  1. Reports on and communicates research results.
  • Summarizes data and identifies implications of results for clients.
  • Prepares summary tables and charts.

Writes reports on study results, incorporating information from other sources when appropriate.
 

  1. Manages projects.
  • Prepares, manages, and follows through on project schedules while maintaining data quality, customer service, and budget requirements.
  • Works with external vendors and clients to ensure adherence to data collection requirements and project schedules.
  • Ensures timely completion of research projects.

Responds expediently to requests for information from clients and LIMRA staff
 

  1. Supports unit growth.
  • Maintains industry and research methodology knowledge.
  • Monitors trade press to keep abreast of general industry trends.

Attends industry and trade meetings.
 

Qualifications:

 

  • Education/Experience
    • A college degree or several years of relevant company experience are required

 

  • Skills/Knowledge
    • Requires good knowledge of the financial services industry, insurance products and distribution systems
    • Knowledge of survey research methodology and statistical analysis techniques
    • Good speaking and written communication skills
    • Requires experience with SAS, and PC application software word processing, spread sheet, data base, and graphically software
    • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment

 

Travel:


Position requires up to 15% of job time, traveling within the US.
