We are currently taking applications for a
Vendor Relationship Manager to work as part of our Conferences team to manage existing conference sponsor and exhibitor relationships while identifying and developing relationships with prospective sponsors and exhibitors. In addition to a strong desire to collaborate and innovate, the ideal candidate will have 3- 5 years of experience in one or more of the following: vendor relationship management, conference sponsor/exhibitor sales, relevant knowledge and experience in the life/retirement industry. This position can based in Windsor CT or Atlanta, GA. Other locations considered for the perfect candidate.

 

Major Responsibilities:

 

Develop and grow vendor relations for the purpose of securing exhibitor and sponsor revenue for domestic conferences.

 

GENERATE REVENUE OF $500,000 BY SELLING EXHIBITS AND SPONSORSHIPS FOR THE CONFERENCE LINE OF BUSINESS

 

a) Maintain and expand vendor relationships through research, networking, and referrals.

b) Understand the marketing objectives of vendors to guide them to the appropriate conference with the best audience fit for their business. This includes creating innovative and customized offerings to meet those needs.

c) Solicit and sell sponsor and exhibit opportunities to maximize conference revenue.

d) Participate in the budgeting and pricing of the sponsor and exhibitor revenue lines.

 

ENHANCE THE CONFERENCE EXPERIENCE FOR SPONSORS/EXHIBITORS AND CONFERENCE ATTENDEES

 

a) Ensure appropriate sponsor/exhibitor recognition, exposure, and deliverables in our pre- and onsite conference materials.

b) Enhance the onsite experience through creating a positive networking and sales environment for them. This includes exhibitor placement, room layout, and traffic flow, as well as providing on-site networking opportunities.

c) Provide value to conference attendees:

- Introduce them to a room full of relevant service providers (Exhibitors/Sponsors), while ensuring a favorable vendor/member ratio.

- Provide additional sponsorship revenue to enhance the program (i.e., speakers, food & beverage, additional networking opportunities, etc.).

 

MANAGE STRATEGIC PARTNER RELATIONSHIPS FOR THE DOMESTIC CONFERENCE LINE OF BUSINESS

 

a) Collaborate with partner owners to reach agreement on conference benefits and associated premiums for each strategic partner, as part of their final contract negotiations.

b) Confer with other conference-related departments to make certain proposed deliverables can be met.

c) Ensure each strategic partner's conference experience meets the expectations and value promised in our partner agreements, adding to the overall success of the partner relationship.

 

The position requires:

 

1) Ability to understand products and services vendors have to offer to the insurance industry and how conference sponsoring and exhibiting can meet their needs to connect with the industry.

3) Excellent negotiating, interpersonal, client relationship, and problem-solving skills.

4) Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.

5) The ability to handle multiple assignments and prioritize workload.

6) Ability to gain a general knowledge of LIMRA products and services.

7) A four-year college degree.
