Our Member Relations and Sales team is looking to grow and we hope you are too!

We are looking for someone who can personify our brand in the marketplace; deliver exceptional value to executives across the workplace benefits industry; and drive growth for our organization.

The right person for this role is able to develop new business relationships throughout the workplace benefits segment of our membership, coordinate the delivery of various member-benefits, and sell our services and solutions to an assigned book of accounts. The ideal candidate is someone who can take those skills and execute on account and sales plans, handle a variety of business development tasks, effectively communicate to a wide-range of audiences -- especially senior executives – and is knowledgeable about the workplace benefits/group insurance industry. As a key member of our team, the Member Relations Director is involved in driving engagement with members with the goals of establishing relationships, promoting services, ensure that value is delivered, and membership is growing. This position requires someone who knows the business and the key players in this space.

The role requires you to stay up-to-date on key trends/issues affecting the workplace benefits industry and to understand what research and services are appropriate for our members in this segment.

The Member Relations Directors is responsible for:

Sales Responsibility:

  • Developing and executing on specific account plans to drive member engagement and revenue growth
  • Working with product teams to sell a variety of business solutions
  • Developing and delivering qualified new business leads for our internal business partners
  • Leading a coordinated sales approach with team members to successfully win new business opportunities
Member Relations Responsibilities:
  • Establishing and deepening relationships within assigned member companies
  • Managing and leading various study groups, committees, and conferences appropriate for the group of members
  • Coordinating with research teams and business units to design and deliver research and issues-based webinars to members
  • Planning, coordinating, and leading member engagement initiatives
  • Recruiting new members for appropriate committee and study groups
  • Planning, promoting, and managing the annual Group & Worksite Benefits Conference with other team members
  • Handling other Member Relations & Sales duties as needed
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in business related or communications field
  • 7+ yrs experience in Group Life/Non-medical Employee Benefits marketplace
  • Strong relationship-management/account management skills
  • Understanding of market research and how it applies to a variety of business challenges
  • Ability to establish and build relationships broadly across an organization
  • An understanding of members various product, marketing, and distribution challenges and ability to develop proposals to address
  • Ability to sell a variety of products and services that meet member company needs
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (orally and in writing).
  • Ability to collaborate with a variety of cross-functional teams (internally and externally)
  • Demonstrated ability to follow-up on sales opportunities
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce.com.
  • Ability to travel on occasion to member companies
Creativity and willingness to be proactive is a must.  Excellent time management, communications, decision making, presentation and organization skills required.  In addition, we're looking for someone with a strong commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience.
