The “Markets” team conducts research to help companies understand consumer attitudes, financial behaviors, customer experiences and market trends. The information enables member companies to identify business opportunities and develop marketing tactics.

LIMRA’s Insurance Research – Markets team has an opening for an Associate Research Director. The position is responsible for managing research studies across a broad array of consumer markets, including: general consumers, emerging market segments and policyholder satisfaction. The program also conducts studies which examine company practices and the experiences of financial service professionals.

The Associate Research Director is an accomplished professional with the ability to design studies, develop surveys, perform analysis, write reports and deliver presentations. Must be able to work independently, or as part of a larger project team.

Responsibilities:

Working with Markets team lead, designs and conducts research studies. Manages projects, including development of project plans budgets and overseeing vendors.

Database development and analysis. Data interpretation, integration of findings with external market and prior studies.

Communicate research results along with business implications. Publication research reports, infographics and articles in LIMRA publications and trade press.

Prepares and delivers presentations at committee meetings, conferences and member companies. Meets with members as needed to discuss market research projects. Responds to requests for information related to assigned projects and areas of expertise from members, LIMRA staff, and the media

Maintains appropriate documentation of research projects and deliverables.

Maintain an understanding of developments in areas of expertise, including consumer research, data analysis and the financial services industry.

Qualifications:

An advanced degree (Masters or Doctorate), or 5 to 10 years of relevant industry experience

Knowledge of the financial services industry

Ability to write reports and articles, with guidance

Oral communication skills (moderate) to present results of research

Knowledge of standard statistical analysis techniques

Knowledge of survey design, qualitative and quantitative research methodologies

Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

Proficient in one or more data analysis applications (such as SAS and SPSS)

Excellent organizational skills. Ability to prioritize and multi-task.

Ability to take initiative, working independently or as part of a team.
