The Opportunity: We are seeking an Enterprise PMO Operations Director to join our Project Managment Office team.  Reporting to the Head of Operational Effectiveness, the PMO Operations Director serves as the operational leader for enterprise PMO functions. This role ensures disciplined execution, strong portfolio governance, and clear alignment between strategic priorities and delivery.

The position combines portfolio oversight with hands-on leadership, coordinating PMO operating rhythms while directly managing select strategic initiatives. This leader plays a key role in enhancing organizational effectiveness through predictable delivery, transparency, and continuous improvement.


What You’ll Do:

  • Drive consistency in project and program delivery by ensuring standards, governance, and best practices are applied across the enterprise portfolio, including alignment with established planning and execution frameworks.
  • Partner closely with the Head of Operational Effectiveness to ensure portfolio execution aligns with enterprise strategy and operational goals, while contributing to the annual planning and intake process.
  • Develop and deliver clear, actionable portfolio reporting and insights that enable informed decision-making at the senior and executive leadership level.
  • Serve as a program or project manager for select high-impact, complex, or cross-functional initiatives, ensuring successful execution from planning through delivery.
  • Provide oversight, guidance, and escalation support to project and program managers, helping resolve delivery challenges and remove cross-team impediments.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships across teams to foster transparency, alignment, and accountability. Communicate risks, decisions, and outcomes with clarity and executive presence.
  • Mentor project and program management talent within the business, strengthening capabilities and promoting a culture of delivery excellence.

What You Bring:
Required

  • 8+ years of experience in project and/or program management, including large-scale, cross-functional initiatives across both technical and non-technical domains
  • Demonstrated experience leading PMO operations and driving portfolio execution excellence
  • Strong understanding of portfolio governance, delivery frameworks, and operational execution best practices
  • Proven ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on delivery, translating strategy into actionable plans and measurable outcomes
  • Advanced project and program management expertise, with the ability to coach, mentor, and elevate delivery standards across teams
  • Strong decision-making, prioritization, and trade-off management skills in complex, fast-paced environments
  • Experience managing risks, dependencies, and issues proactively to ensure predictable delivery outcomes
Preferred
  • PMP, PgMP, SAFe, or equivalent certification
  • Experience advancing delivery maturity, operational rigor, or enterprise execution effectiveness
