AVP, Compliance and Regulatory Services, LIMRA and LOMA

LIMRA and LOMA are focused on serving our members in the financial services industry.  One way in which we do so is through our Compliance and Regulatory knowledge and expertise.  Currently, we are looking for a senior leader to help position LIMRA and LOMA as the leading resource of knowledge, information and solutions in this space.

This critical role will serve as the subject matter expert on compliance and regulatory environmental topics in the financial services industry and identify opportunities for LIMRA and LOMA to assist our members.  The AVP will have overall responsibility for representing all aspects of LIMRA and LOMA’s compliance and regulatory business – from product to research to networking and convening of our members.  The AVP will be a collaborative, broad-minded business partner who will work closely with other teams within LIMRA and LOMA to drive value for our members.

The AVP of Compliance and Regulatory Services is responsible for being at the forefront of new regulations that may impact the industry (either through firsthand knowledge, or through established partners in the industry) and proactively identifying ways in which LIMRA and LOMA can serve our members in this arena.  The AVP will position and represent LIMRA and LOMA as a thought leader for our members.  He/she will continuously interact with senior level executives at member organizations to build strong relationships that help ensure our members are at the center of everything we do.  Through member and industry engagement, the AVP will help identify product development ideas and key strategic initiatives that will maintain LIMRA and LOMA’s position as the key resource for our members.  This person will also work directly with external partners and associations to do the same.  Through these activities, the discovery of new product ideas and general guidance through the product development process is a main component of this job, as are the identification of topics for partners in research to explore and contributions to various pertinent events, conferences and committees.

• Provide thought leadership related to the compliance and regulatory environment – and its impact on our members
• Maintain an active industry presence across multiple platforms
• Provide guidance and recommendations on the strategic direction of related business lines
• Be able to work across multiple constituencies to collaborate and develop ideas to benefit our members
• Identify opportunities for new product development and enhancements to existing products and services
• Identify topics for research partners and help in the execution of the research as needed
• Liaison with external partners and associations to represent LIMRA and LOMA
• Speak and present at various industry meetings
• Run related committees and study groups focused on providing value to our members
• Educate internal teams on compliance and regulatory issues, practices, etc.
• Work in a collaborative, member-centric environment

Experience/Knowledge:

• 10+ years’ experience in a compliance or compliance-related role in financial services industry
• Credibility in industry, executive presence
• Track record of execution and successful implementation of ideas
• Natural networking skills
• Practical knowledge and a business sense
• Excellent communication skills (clarity, expertise, articulation)
• Demonstrated experience and ability to present to multiple levels of individuals including C-suite
• Work with external partners, vendors, etc. to foster relationships with LIMRA and LOMA
• Understanding of market and what the opportunities are
• Ability to execute on projects and ideas
• Leadership experience and proven ability to influence without authority
