The Opportunity: Are you a strategic leader passionate about transforming learning through technology? LIMRA and LOMA is seeking a visionary Director of Learning Technology Ecosystem to lead the evolution and governance of our learning platforms, ensuring they deliver exceptional value to our learners and business units both today and in the future.

 

This role is central to our Professional Development Division, overseeing systems while collaborating across teams to drive innovation, data insights, and seamless learning experiences.

 

Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid)
 

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the strategy, governance, and optimization of LL Global’s learning technology ecosystem.
  • Serve as the bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, budgets, and system enhancements.
  • Collaborate with product owners, IT, and customer support to ensure technologies meet business and learner needs.
  • Oversee second-tier customer support and ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
  • Drive data collection and analysis efforts to generate actionable insights from learner behavior.
  • Stay ahead of emerging learning tech trends (e.g., AI, xAPI, LXP, microlearning) and recommend strategic innovations.
  • Manage a team of up to four direct reports and influence cross-functional teams.


What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in learning technologies or related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in learning technology or enterprise learning systems technical roles.

What Do You Need to Succeed?

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A blend of strategic and visionary mindsets, technical fluency, and human-centered design thinking
  • Experience developing and executing multi-year technology roadmaps
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams through change and to influence without formal authority.
  • Experience managing LMS, LRS, LXP, assessment platforms, and/or middleware integrations.
  • Proven ability to find and implement vendor technology solutions that meet defined business needs.
  • Proven ability to find and implement vendor technology solutions that meet defined business needs.
  • Vendor selection and management skills and contract negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with digital transformation strategies in learning environments.
  • Knowledge of interoperability standards (SCORM, xAPI, cmi5)
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.Experience with e-commerce functionality and regional product pricing structures preferre
  • Experience with Meridian Global LMS, QuestionMark Exam Delivery Platform, Rustici Content Controller, SCORM Cloud, and LRS a plus.

Relevant Experience

  • Previous experience in people leadership strongly preferred.
  • Experience in corporate, association, or higher education learning environments strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in leading digital learning initiatives or platform transformations.
