Description

LIMRA LOMA, is a world-wide research and marketing organization serving the needs of its member companies in the insurance and financial services industry. Currently we are looking for a Director of Analytics for our Windsor, CT office. This is a hybrid role.

Responsibilities:

  • Grow, promote and oversee LIMRA’s strategy for modeling and analytics
    • Oversee member benefits projects focusing on modeling and analytics applications to real world problems (ex. Propensity to buy, Propensity to lapse, Experience Predictors, etc.)
    • Identify opportunities to increase visibility of LIMRA’s commitment to data and analytics including conferences, committees and publications
  • Serve as Director of LIMRA’s Center of Excellence in Data Analytics
    • Provide thought leadership and research and development support for LIMRA’s internal data analytics efforts and/or new commercial products involving data analytics opportunities
    • Coordinate opportunities for partnership with University of CT or other academic partners on analytics projects where appropriate
    • Facilitate meetings for the LIMRA member company analytics leads to discuss key issues and challenges by serving as staff rep for the LIMRA Advanced Analytics Study Group
  • Serve as the Research/IT Liaison for Data Strategy and Key Data Initiatives
    • Work with IT and Research to support the Benchmark Data Optimization initiative and related analytics efforts
    • Help to inform the discussion of data management and access across the organization by providing a view of the Research specific data sources and structure
    • Help develop a means to facilitate greater use of analytics and modeling in the Research program

Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, finance, statistics or data analytics or equivalent experience
    • 5+ years of related experience in Database Development, Data Analysis or Statistical Analysis
    • Familiar with common software packages and applications of predictive modeling (ex. SAS, SPSS, R, SAS Enterprise Miner, or similar tools)
    • Ability to lead and move a project forward
    • Experience fostering team collaboration &/ helping to set direction and execute strategies

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Familiarity with Advanced Analytics and Predictive modeling techniques
    • Experience with Project Management principals
    • Business experience in the financial/insurance sector
    • Ability to support applications of data analytics finance/insurance industry problems
    • 3+ years direct supervisory/managerial experience
